Plant Magic 70/30 Supreme is the new multi-blend substrate that improves upon the well-loved Coco Supreme.

Plant Magic 70/30 Supreme substrate consists of 70% coconut husk, 15% fytocell, and 15% perlite. These simple ingredients were specially chosen for their natural plant-nurturing properties, giving growers the greatest control over their plants’ environment. The substrate’s minimal ingredients were included for the following purposes:

Plant Magic 70/30 Supreme is made up of 70% Coco Supreme, Plant Magic’s premium quality coconut husk substrate. Also known as coir, the coconut husk is sourced from India’s leading producer. The coir is buffered with a calcium-magnesium solution to remove excess salts. This process reduces the coir’s electrical conductivity. Coir is naturally water absorbent and in its buffered form, it holds water and nutrients in large quantities – meaning less frequent watering and feeding.

Fytocell is an organic, biodegradable substance added to Plant Magic 70/30 Supreme to improve its water absorption and air permeability. Like a sponge, it has an open-cell structure which gives the substrate a water/air retention ratio of 60/30. The natural water and air retention properties of fytocell help to feed and aerate the roots as they grow.

Perlite also improves the water retention of Plant Magic 70/30 Supreme, but its main purpose is to improve the substrate’s aeration. Alongside all the micro-nutrients and water needed to grow big, healthy plants, the root network needs a consistent supply of fresh oxygen to guard against stagnation and root rot. Well aerated roots grow thick and fast, spreading throughout the substrate in search of nutrients.

Plant Magic 70/30 Supreme also contains premium composted fine bark and Plant Magic’s secret magic dust for boosting the substrate’s beneficial bacteria.
